I was going to sleep early tonight, or at least be on the bed early but won't actually be trying to sleep and blog instead, but my captains invited me for dinner at the KLIA2. We headed to this food court named Quizinn where there are lots of food stall serving various cuisines from many different country. Korean, Chinese, Malaysian, Singaporean, Arabian, Indonesian, Western food, you name it, they have it all at Quizinn. I had my eyes on a tteokbokki from the Korean booth and as I was scanning along the colorful food stall, I got caught up in the Arabian stall because of the shawarma.
"One small chicken shawarma, please," I said to one of the staff. All of them were men and I'm guessing that they are Arabs judging from the language they spoke to each other. The man I placed my order to responded in a very flirty way, "Okay, one small chicken shawarma coming up! I will make a special one for you." Boy, I can definitely live with this everyday.
"Do you like spicy," he asked. I answered with a big smile and a flirty voice as well being the thirsty hoe that I am. I took some photos and videos while he was making my shawarma. "My face doesn't look good, so I'm just going to cover it, ya," he said. "Okay, ready?". Ready for what, I asked to myself. A second later, he did a very fast flip motion with the roti and woosh! fire crackling everywhere. Toasted the shawarma for a bit, gave a dollop of white sauce on the tip, then topped it of again with some sliced chicken meat. "There you go, enjoy," he said.
The shawarma looks very similar to the shawarmas I usually have in Doha, Qatar. It was lacking some spices, but it was okay. The roti was toasted nicely, it had a little bit of burnt charcoal here and there, and the filling was quiet generous compared to the fake shawarma we have in Indonesia. A little too much white sauce for my liking but, hey, it was specially made by the cute shawarma chef, so I'm digging it.
Opening Hours:
MON - SUN: 24 Hours
