I stumbled upon this self-service and dog-friendly eating place at one afternoon, when I was craving for a good salad bowl. I didn’t get the chance to stop by back then because I had an upcoming flight in a few hours, so I ordered my food via Go-Jek. This time, after a quick flight to Kertajati, I brought myself to the cafe and dined in.
My choice was the Keto Bowl and the Berry Good! Smoothie. My Keto Bowl consisted of mixzed greens, mushroom, egg, capsicum, baby tomatoes, jalapeño ranch, almond, soy crunch, and a good few slabs of rib-eye. They actually serves smoked salmon as the meat to go with the other ingredients in this dish, but since I had to pay an extra Rp15.000,00 for smoked salmon, I decided to change my game. Luckily, the staff was kind enough to let me switch my meat.
This restaurant is a self-service restaurant, so expect yourself to order your food and beverage at the cashier, as well as getting your own cutlery set on the table provided. The only service that you’ll get is when the food is being served on your table. That’s it.
The majority of the customer on this afternoon are Indonesian, which made me feel more content because there are restaurants which staffs serve their customer depending on their ethnicity. Usually, them international tourists are treated more welcome compared to the local tourists. It’s a good thing the staffs treated everyone equally at Dear Lucy. As I was waiting for my food to be served, the owner’s dogs were brought out to the dinning area - two fluffy chow chow puppies who go by the name Bolen and Pangsit. I couldn’t bring myself to focus on my Keto Bowl when the two main stars of this restaurant were presented.
My Keto Bowl was very delicious! I love the spicy jalapeño ranch when indulged with the tender rib-eye. The almond and soy crunch were amazingly crunchy, giving that vibrant texture that I love so much. My egg had a runny yolk going on inside, which I managed to capture on my money shot. On the one hand, my smoothie was also very delightful and refreshing. Served cold, dripping from the brim of the glass, the smoothie had blueberries, strawberries, banana, chia seed, greek yogurt, and honey blended into one. No artificial sugar was used to make this drink, which added some extra points as I’m currently trying to lose more weight after a week of holiday in Bangkok.
I wish that the staff can smile more, though. Despite the fact that they gave a nice service to the customers, most of them are lacking that friendly smile on their faces. Other than that, everything is not to be complain about. The atmosphere is very cozy and laid-back, the food and beverages option is various, and Dear Lucy can definitely be the place to go if you want to spend your afternoon chilling with a cup of Flat White and your book on your hands.
